GAITHERSBURG, Md. – Three members of the Hood College Equestrian Team competed in the Zone 4 Region 1 Regional Competition, co-hosted by University of Maryland and American University at the Other Left/Oatlands in Gaithersburg, MD.

Senior Susannah Noppenberger started off the day with a 6th place win in Novice Over Fences on UMD’s Twister. Noppenberger also represented Hood in Novice Flat in a highly competitive class of 12. In her first heat, she rode UMD’s Kohl. The top six riders were called back into the ring for a ride-off to see who would get their opportunity at Zones. Noppenberger was called back for the final heat and drew UMD’s Twinkles, placing 4th overall.

Senior Taylor Polito represented Hood in Intermediate Flat, placing 7th on UMD’s LB.

Junior Hannah Pause rode George Mason’s Romy in Walk/Trot. Pause won Reserve Champion and will be representing the Blazers at Zones on April 6th at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.

The equestrian team also had their equine representatives at Regionals with Flower and Milton – who were excellent mounts for their riders.
