Equestrian competes in double-show weekend

The Hood College equestrian team competed in a double-show weekend that was co-hosted by George Mason University and George Washington University.

On the first day of competition, sophomore Molly Rose Kushner placed second in open flat on Solo and third in her open over fences class on Greta.

Freshman Sydney Mathis won first place on Simon in her first novice flat class of the season.

On the second day, Kushner rode Elliot in open flat over fences, taking home the third-place ribbon. She then finished in fifth place on Mosey in the open flat division. Kushner is currently tied for sixth place out of 22 in the Cacchione Cup end-of-the-year ranking.

Freshman Jenna Kellar placed fifth on Solo in the intermediate flat division and sophomore Victoria Arnold won third place on Spunkie in her novice flat class.

Freshman Alexa Grey finished out the weekend on Taylor, winning fourth in the pre-novice flat class.

The next show will be co-hosted by the University of Maryland and American University on November 9 and 10 at the Other Left Farm in Gaithersburg, Md.
